Kaken Kamzin was born on June13, 1949, in the village of Karlygash in the Alakol district of the Zhetysu region. After graduating from the Kazakh secondary boarding school No. 9 in Almaty, he worked at the collective farm for two years. From 1968 to 1973 studied at the Faculty of Journalism of Kazakh State University named after S.Kirov. Then he worked as an editor in the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of the Kazakh SSR, Zhazushi Publishing House, senior correspondent of the newspaper Almaty Akshamy - Evening Alma-Ata, executive secretary of the Parasat magazine, first deputy editor-in-chief of the newspaper Kazakh memekleti. He is a member of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan and the author of four prose literary works. The classic of the Kazakh literature G. Musirepov, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan R. Toktarov, famous literary critic S. Ashimbaev warmly spoke about his work in due time. In 2008, the writer won the International Literature Grand Prix of the ZER-SU Corporation. In 1994, K. Kamzin transferred to teach at alma mater - Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In 1999, a pedagogue defended a candidate thesis on the topic Michaelis’s Journalism in the Newspaper Semipalatinskie Oblastnye Vedomosti. Continuing his scientific career, in 2009 he successfully defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic Evolution of the genres of the Kazakh journalism. He has published about 100 scientific articles. Over the years of work at KazNU, he issued five textbooks - Journalism of E. Michaelis, Fundamentals of Journalism, Analytical Journalism, The Evolution of Genres of the Kazakh Journalism, The Palette of Time in the Panorama of Journalism (in co-authorship with B. Alkhoja), several monographs - the three-volume of Kazakh Journalism (in co-authorship with a team of researchers), The Processes of Formation of the Kazakh Journalism Genres, Journalism and Public Activities of E.P.Michaelis. Several studies of the researcher were published in Germany, Poland, Canada, China, Mongolia, England, Italy, Russia and Uzbekistan. Professor Kaken Kamzin’s research interests include topical issues of modern journalism such as the development of national journalism genres, the positive potential of journalism genre texts, content energy, the interaction of the humanities and technical sciences.
